Alanson B. Houghton
Principal & Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Houghton oversees the firm’s investment team and is responsible for investment strategy, portfolio management and the selection and monitoring of managers. He has over 15 years experience working in the investment management and family office marketplace.

Before coming to Shelterwood, Mr. Houghton worked for Winter Capital International, which was acquired by Citigroup Private Bank in 2000. There, he was responsible for managing multi-manager investment portfolios for domestic and international clients, many of whom had operating businesses or interests.

Additionally, Mr. Houghton is the non-executive chairman of Market Street Trust Company, a multi-family office in Corning, NY. He is also a former Director of the Triangle Fund and serves on several other investment committees and boards.

Mr. Houghton earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison University.
